Resume "A Million Each":
(2006 BFA Statement,
Kent State University) |
Born in Ravenna, Ohio in 1982, Ryan Burdzinski began receiving awards for his art during childhood, including a Silver Key in the 1998 Governor’s Youth Art Competition. He attended Kent State University in 2000, creating his first collages from magazines and personal photographs. He soon came to enjoy oil painting, and began using the collages as reference for larger oil paintings.
Ryan trained with several graphics programs and began using the computer as a major tool in his work while attending college. It opened up new doors in the realm of collage and allowed him to edit forms more efficiently. Armed with these skills and newfound freedoms, his work grew more colorful and intricate. With the addition of depth and light effects, his paintings grew more surreal than abstract. In 2006 he introduced his work to the general public when he was included in his first two exhibitions, Intersections and Three Way at the Meyers School of Art in Ohio. That year, the Kent State University School of Art displayed his collection A Million Each. In 2007 he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in Painting.
Burdzinski currently resides in Brunswick, Ohio- working as a freelance painter and graphic designer. He continues to work on his own series of paintings in his free time. |
